Since last Sunday, the Interministerial State Network of the French government, which connects public services, has experienced a series of denial-of-service computer attacks. These attacks have reportedly reached an unprecedented level of intensity. There has been no clear indication of a Russian attack.
The attacks have affected several ministries and agencies, including Economy, Culture, Ecological Transition, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC).
Although the impact seems limited, the authorities are concerned about the increasing frequency of these attacks, particularly just a few months before the Paris Olympics. Government sources are considering the possibility of an attack from Russia. However, various hacker groups have claimed responsibility for the Telegram network. One of these groups is Anonymous Sudan, which supports Islamist causes and Russia.
The entities responsible for preventing DDoS attacks are working together to mitigate this threat and ensure the uninterrupted provision of IT services.
